17 weeks....

Well I am 17 weeks and 2 days. I have been trying to take a few moments out of the day to sit in silence and pay attention to everything I feel to see if I notice the baby yet. I haven't yet...but my midwife said it could be up to week 20 before I really notice it. I am really excited for that. And for March 17th...... about 3 weeks and 2 days now :) I'm on the countdown!! Right now the development is ...according to "Parents.com" this is what baby is at now...

"Your baby is growing stronger by the day. You can feel that for yourself as those first timid flutters become more pronounced pokes from her busy little feet and hands. She can touch her own face, and she may be looking for her thumb to suck.

Your baby is now about 5 inches long -- that's not quite as long as a ballpoint pen -- and her body systems are in good working order. Her circulatory system and urinary tract are functioning, and she is inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid as she learns to breathe.

Pink nipples are forming on her chest, and your baby has mammary glands even if she's a he. If your baby is a girl, her ovaries are busy developing tiny follicles. She will have 6 million eggs or so at this point in your pregnancy, but that number will fall to about 1 million by the time she is born.

If you could see your baby, she'd look long and lanky, with legs not much bigger around than your thumb. Soon she'll start developing a layer of fat that will keep her warm after birth. In fact, a newborn weighing about 8 pounds at birth will have more than 5 pounds of fat on her body."

16 week checkup

Today I went in for my 16 week appointment. Everything is going smoothly and growing as it should. Baby's heartbeat was 150 today..and poor little babers had the hiccups. It was SOO cute!! We could hear them on the monitor ...nice and steady haha. It's kinda weird to be able to hear them, but not feel them. I haven't felt any movement yet that I know of. My midwife said it will probably happen closer to 18 weeks since this is my first pregnancy. I am super excited for that day to come!!! March 17th we get to have our first ultrasound!!!! And that is the day we get to find out if we are having a girl or boy. I am so anxious for that day to come!!!! I'm gonna have a little talk with baby Peffley before that day so the little stinker doesn't try to hide her or his little parts from us. I can't imagine having to wait LONGER if that was to happen. So I am praying that we will have no issues finding out that day. Plus, just being able to see the baby for the first time, that will be just...amazing!!! That day will also be the start of a shopping spree hahahaha. I can't wait to finally be able to buy some things for this little baby. And start picking out the nursery items, and colors. I am so anxious to start getting the nursery together....I LOVE to decorate :)

Belly Band!

Best decision EVER!!! I love these things. I bought one in black and one in white and let me tell you..they are just as amazing as the adds make them sound. I have a pair of pants that I can't button anymore and this little sucker makes that okay :) I just put the band over my jeans and put my shirt one...BAM...it just looks like I have a tank on underneath my shirt....which is the OTHER amazing part about these babies... my belly is getting pretty noticeable now so my regular shirts are becoming shorter...with this baby I can wear them and it looks normal. I HIGHLY recommend these to any girl that is pregnant right now. They really are little miracle workers...and really they just make you feel better about yourself when it comes to your clothes being smaller and smaller these days :)

15 weeks,,,,getting anxious!!

Well, I am 15 weeks and 3 days today. My body is changing starting to look quite big (more so in my head hahaha). I haven't felt the baby move yet.... my midwife said it could start happening anytime now. Probably more so in a few weeks. I do however feel my body stretching and growing inside... which tends to cause some serious stomach aches some days, but thats okay :) Just means that little baby Peffley is growing..which is good!!! The vomiting is still happening more then I would like..but hopefully when this month is over, that will begin to fade away. I have still lost more weight then gained, but I've had many moms say thats normal or the same thing happened to them. So that makes me feel better... I know baby is getting what baby needs even though I tend to loose all my nutrients haha. Some days are worse then others....today was actually a really great day!! I didn't get sick once, and actually had a bit of an appetite, which was nice. Most days no food sounds good to me, and I have to fight myself to at least get something down. I am still taking the Flinstone vitamins instead of prenantals. They are working out really well!! Eric and I are both getting more and more anxious for 20 weeks to get here so we can finally get the chance to find out the sex of the baby. We still haven't found any boy names we love, we're still working on that one. As far as girl names we are still stuck on Zoey Kaylinn. I cant wait to find out the sex so I can finally go SHOPPING!!! Every time I am in a store I see the baby stuff and I just wanna shop shop shop...but obviously, not knowing if we have a girl or boy, makes it a little difficult to pick out things we want haha. I have my next appointment on Feb 16Th. :)

My legs are out of CONTROL!!!!

So along with being pregnant and all the interesting things that come along with it....I get RLS.. Restless leg syndrome. It's insane and drives me crazy!!! Every evening when I am completely exhausted and can't wait to fall asleep, I lay down...get comfortable and then it begins... the shaking, out of control nerves, sensation that basically feels like my legs are gonna take off running without me. So I then have to get up and bicycle my legs or walk around..sometimes have Eric rub them. It's so frustrating. Like last night I was really sick, heartburn throwing up.. I finally get settled down, it's midnight and all I can think about is falling asleep and hoping that I don't throw up again......and then my legs begin AGAIN!!! My Dr. set me up with a neurologist appointment this Thursday to see if there is anything they can do for me, or if there is some medicine I can take at night so I can finally get a nice relaxing nights rest!!! Hopefully when I get to this appointment, they won't end with.."Sorry there really isn't anything we can do for you since you are pregnant" That will make me cry!
