*Beautiful Baby Zoe*

FINALLY! She arrived. Zoe was born August 7th 2010 at 4:16 am. She was 6lbs 14 ounces and 20 inches long. Absolutely perfect in every way! She looks exactly like her daddy (although she does have my lips and ears) hahaha.

I was 5 days after my due date when I went into the hospital on August 6Th at noon to be induced. We went straight into our room, they got me all set up and hooked up to the patosin to get the labor moving. At this point I wasn't even having contractions. After they monitored the baby for a bit, I started to walk around to speed it up. Hours went by, and the contractions started to kick in. I was doing great, no meds or anything for the first 6 or 7 hours. Then they got pretty intense so I had them give me a small dose of Nubian to help relax me. It worked really well, and I was doing good. Breathing with the contractions, not making a sound haha. I never made a peep. My mom was almost convinced they didn't bother me that much......they hurt for sure! lol I was just totally focused on the breathing and kept telling myself they only last a minute....they only last a minute. More time went by and they were peeking, very close together, and SOOOO intense. At this time I was dilated 6 1/2 Cen. When the nurse came back in I was going to get another shot of Nubian but she had another plan for me. She spoke to my Dr. who informed me that Zoe wasnt flipping (she was faced out instead of facing my back) which is why i was having such intense back labor, and I had stopped dilating. She then told me my worst nightmare, that I really needed to get an Epidural to relax my body so I would dilate all the way and so the pain wasn't so intense when I gave birth because of how Zoe was positioned. So they gave me the Epidural which I totally hated!!! I did not like the feeling at all. I did however end up sleeping for about 2 1/2 hours which was nice. I woke up to the nurse telling me it was time to push. Long story short on that, it took about 2 hours or so of labor...I was throwing up the whole time, and then I literally puked Zoe out. I had my face in a bucket as they put Zoe on my chest. As I looked up at her....words can't even describe the feeling I felt at that moment. I don't remember much after I was REALLY out of it. Other then getting the epidural and the back labor, it really wasn't all that bad. I didn't find the pain of labor all that horrible. Yes it hurt, but it wasn't intolerable. I would have been fine without the Epidural (I think haha) ......It was by the far the greatest experience of my life!!!!!
